When the Social Security Administration (SSA) reached out to 32-year-old Roy Farmer, he was surprised.

The man had never applied for or received any type of Social Security benefits. But the SSA was contacting him for benefits his mother had received — 20 years prior!

This means the money was paid out when he was only 11 years old. You can imagine his surprise at learning that the SSA was pursuing him for the amount, which comes to $4,902.

The man, who suffers from symptoms of Cerebral Palsy, has tried to appeal and challenge the issue. But as of now, it’s still a nightmare he’s dealing with. Read the full story here.
