Some people dream of walking away from the workforce as soon as they can. Many retirees take benefits as soon as they’re available, and even live solely off their Social Security benefits.
But others have a different plan for their lives. It’s not uncommon for seniors to work until old age. This sees many professionals remaining in their professional roles well into their 70s and 80s. Would you do this? It’s a matter of preference and circumstance for most people.
Some people have a job they love, and find that working keeps them mentally sharp, socially fulfilled, and generally happier. It’s also helpful to be able to earn money in these later decades, as the cost of living in retirement continues to rise.
Would you work until this age? Are you already? We believe every senior deserves to make their own choice. It’s why we fight to make yearly cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs) a guarantee, so seniors don’t have to keep working to support themselves. If you support this cause, sign our petition.
