The struggles of Social Security were clear before the pandemic, and these past two years have only made those problems clearer for all to see.
We’ve reported that the public’s pessimistic view about the program is rooted in economic concerns, as well as frustrations about the inaction of lawmakers.
But just as it seems Social Security and other related programs like Medicare are beyond repair, news of new efforts to fix them have emerged.
With about a dozen government officials supporting the bipartisan effort to prioritize Social Security once again, this could be the beginning of some much-needed help for retirees today and in the future.
