Representative Rodney Davis of Illinois has recently introduced the Social Security Fairness Act of 2021.

H.R. 82 repeals provisions that reduce Social Security benefits for individuals who receive other benefits. These benefits include items such as state or local government pensions. This and related provisions would become effective for benefits payable after December 2021.

The Social Security Fairness Act of 2021 is now before the House Ways and Means Committee.

While it’s unclear what the true ramifications of passing H.R. 82 may be, the bill that will really make a difference in the lives of retirees is The Guaranteed 3% COLA for Seniors Act.

NORA’s mission is to fight for the benefits America’s seniors have earned. That is why we advocate for a 3% permanent cost-of-living-adjustment for retirees. This COLA should be retroactive to 2010 to compensate seniors for low or missing COLAs.

There has never been a greater opportunity to act!
