While the majority of seniors in the United States are vaccinated against COVID-19, the delta variant is giving some experts pause. This spring and summer, many Americans began to travel again, especially after their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. However, the rise in cases even among vaccinated individuals is causing some to issue warnings.

According to reporting by The Today Show, making the decision to travel is quickly becoming more complicated. Some areas of the country have higher transmission rates, which you might want to factor into your plans. The best thing you can do is stay informed and follow CDC guidelines. Dr. Jessica Justman, an epidemiologist at Columbia University Medical Center, advises that all Americans who want to travel have to “decide how important it is to go to this event and what kinds of risks you’re looking at.”

At NORA, we want seniors to stay safe this summer. If you’re planning on summer travel to see loved ones or take a vacation, take precautions against COVID-19.
