Changes to Social Security and Medicare have been on the table for a while — but these are far different than anything proposed in the past.
These changes could impact the future of retirement, as they would see a steady increase in the retirement age. Those behind the proposition claim this is to account for an increase in life expectancy.
As for Medicare, private insurance would compete with it, and subsidies would be applied to help seniors cover the cost of whichever Medicare plan they select.
What do you think of these changes? Are they likely to pass? If they do, would they be a help? Let us know your thoughts! Don’t forget to follow NORA on Facebook and Twitter.
