If you’ve spent most of your life working on a part-time basis, will you qualify for Social Security?
The relationship between Social Security and income is something we’ve talked about before. However, most of these conversations are usually about full-time workers.
There’s good news for part-time workers — you will qualify. This is helpful for those who worked to supplement a partner’s income in a household. It also helps those who were only able to work part-time due to health issues.
The qualifying criteria is the same as it is for full-time workers. As The Motley Fool explains, eligibility is related to time in the workforce, income earned, and Social Security taxes paid. As long as you check these boxes, you can qualify no matter how many hours and days you worked in the average period.
