The 2024 Social Security increase has been announced, and it’s big news for all of us.

Both current and future retirees may have a lot to say about the 3.2 percent COLA. This will equate to an extra $50 or so per month, and will take effect on December 29.

How will this factor into the budgets of seniors in the new year? Think of some common costs seniors have during this time. Could the cost-of-living adjustment help keep up with rising heating bills? How about doctor’s visits, for those fall/winter colds? Is the boost big enough to make a measurable difference?
