When it comes to a person’s Social Security benefits, they want clear answers quickly.
It’s well deserved. After all, this program only exists because of the funds paid in by hard-working seniors over the years. While you’d think that this would mean they should be guaranteed quality service, not everyone gets the experience they’re hoping for. This can happen with any institution we rely on.
Who hasn’t been in this situation — you’re calling about something related to money, finance, or bills, and you’re put on hold. You wait…and you wait…and you wait.
Pretty soon an hour or three has slipped away. Why should Social Security recipients have to go through this?
When Will Seniors Get the Social Security Help They Need?
If you’ve ever been frustrated by the Social Security Administration, you can take a little bit of relief in knowing you’re not alone.
Consider this case of a senior who was trying to apply for much-needed benefits by phone, but was unable to get assisted. The same situation is true for current beneficiaries who have been trying to inquire about benefit increases, information updates, and other important matters related to the program.
While the pandemic left some seniors locked out of the offices they go to for help, we recently covered news that says these offices could be reopening soon.
As for those seniors who are still struggling, there’s only one solution — we need to campaign just as hard for support resources as we do for fair yearly Cost-of-Living Adjustments (COLAs). It’s only when we get together that the Social Security Administration will hear us.
Can NORA count on you to lend your voice to helping seniors and retirees around the country? We work hard to make sure seniors and Social Security recipients are represented fairly and that their needs are addressed. If this is a cause you could get behind, follow us on Facebook and Twitter so you never miss a post.
