As we move further into 2026, seniors are enjoying their raised Social Security benefits.
The 2026 COLA increased payments by 2.8 percent, which amounts to about $50 on average. While we believe this Cost-of-Living Adjustment should’ve been higher, it’s good that seniors have extra money heading into the year.
Another reason an increase is beneficial is that it provides peace of mind. We know that money isn’t everything, but the more financially stable a person feels, the easier it is for them to pursue other forms of wellness. It’s one reason we work so hard to help keep benefits rising through efforts like our petition, which you can sign here.
Seniors deserve it, and it can provide many mental and physical health benefits. This includes fewer financial worries, as well as extra cash for healthy food, a gym membership, time with friends, and other healthy life choices.
