A major study shows that older Americans face less risk of adverse side effects following their COVID-19 vaccination. This is great news for America’s retirees. Yet seniors care most about getting back to normal life. In fact, they usually ask, “Is it safe to visit family after receiving vaccination?”
The key is to remain both optimistic and cautious. A vaccine provides high protection after the first week. But nothing guarantees complete safety.
Guidelines gathered from top medical experts at Very Well Health offer guidance. The good news is that healthy, vaccinated seniors may visit family again. Yet precautions should be maintained for optimal safety. These include staying outside when possible. Also, wear a mask and socially distance.
And, of course, they advise no ill family members or their close contacts should take part in the gathering.
As always, follow your state guidelines and that of your personal doctor or caregiver.
