Now that the 2023 COLA has been officially announced, seniors are giving their thoughts.

Bryan Henry of WBRC shared some opinions from local seniors, and many of them are excited about the increase.

One of the main reasons people are rejoicing about this increase is because of inflation. With everyday items like groceries continuing to rise in price, every little bit of extra money helps.

As we’ve talked about, the case for COLAs is as much moral as it is economic. While seniors are happy to see the number in their bank account climb, many may also rejoice at the COLA because they know it’s well deserved no matter the state of the economy.
