Readers of NORA will know that we cover Social Security changes each year as they happen. One of these, and arguably the most important, is the yearly Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA).
As of now, the 2027 COLA is predicted to be anywhere between 2.8 and 3.2 percent, depending on which analyst is making their estimate. While this would put the number at or slightly above the increase from last year, a lot can still change before the official announcement this October.
What do you think the COLA should be? What other changes would you like to see in terms of tax brackets, updates to the application process, or other improvements?
When this program changes, it should be in a better state than it was before. By sharing your opinion, you could help spur the type of collective action that brings these ideas into reality. Share your thoughts with us on this topic.
Also, don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Twitter. And if you want to help us directly petition Congress for higher COLAs and compensation for years skipped, please take a moment to sign our petition.
