According to Yahoo Finance, the average Social Security benefit at age 70 is $2,176.76.
This is up from the reported average overall benefit, which is just above the $2,000 mark. Retirees can elevate their benefits by earning more throughout their lives, as well as waiting longer to claim in retirement.
As we’ve discussed, waiting longer isn’t always a viable option. For some people, job instability and health issues make it difficult to delay Social Security. What’s a solution that works for everyone?
We advocate for higher Cost-of-Living Adjustments and reimbursement for years skipped. This way, every senior gets more money no matter their income status or the age at which they choose to claim.
