There have been quite a few Social Security changes announced recently, but how many will impact you?
If you’re already receiving benefits, you’re likely happy about the recent Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA). Though it’s lost some shine due to inflation, the 8.7 percent increase did break records.
As pointed out here by the Motley Fool, it now takes longer to earn a retirement credit, which is a vital step in claiming benefits. This functions as a benefit delay of sorts.
There’s also the fact that the wage cap is increasing. While it will impact those in the six-figure range, for some people in certain parts of the country, this is still very much in the middle class.
