While Social Security will see a record COLA for 2022, there’s a problem — a record number of people could be left behind.

Most people know that the program helps retirees along with a number of individuals who deal with issues that marginalize them economically. But with many Social Security offices shutting down over the past two years, it’s become apparent that there’s a record number of people who are not receiving their benefits.

Many of these people have physical or mental health issues, along with low/no income, lack of housing, lack of English proficiency, or other issues which make it hard to get help.

Do you know of anyone who has had trouble with the program recently? Share your opinion in the comments.

Here at NORA, we’re passionate about fighting to make sure all Social Security recipients get a fair yearly COLA in this challenging economy and beyond. Follow us for more Social Security news, then check us out on Twitter and Facebook.
