Could This State Repeal Social Security Taxes?

Even when a person has reached retirement age and has put in a life of hard work, the taxman persists.

Many states currently tax Social Security benefits, but the extreme economic circumstances of the time are making some state governments rethink this move.

Removing the tax on benefits could help incentivize more seniors to stay there or move there. And this, in turn, could help boost a state’s economy. Missouri may make the move to carry out this change soon.

The extreme economic situation of 2022 likely influenced this decision, as New Mexico also talked about making this change a couple of months back.
