A data incident at a Denver school saw fingerprints and Social Security numbers stolen.

The incident itself took place back in December and was first discovered in January. The attack also saw names, student ID numbers, driver’s license numbers, passport numbers, and health information stolen.

Authorities are still investigating the issue. Thieves will go to great lengths to steal Social Security info, as it’s highly valuable on the dark web.

Despite what some may believe, children’s Social Security numbers are also a big target due to the fact that they have a clean credit history attached.

If you find your number, your child’s number, or your grandchild’s number, has been compromised, learn how to change it here.
